A Glimpse into Purpose

Let me start of by saying that I consider myself very lucky and blessed with whatever God has provided me in my life so far. Unfortunately, there are so many who are not as blessed and who need financial support to survive, grow and become successful. I was looking for various options to do my little bit.

One easy way was to financially donate to various organization and I started doing it. However, it is not rocket science to figure out that how much ever I contribute from my savings, it was no where close to the needs of the various organizations. This made me restless and I was thinking of various ways of expanding the scope. As a next step, I started requesting my friends and family to donate and many did oblige my request. But I still felt there is lot more that can be done.

In this process of expansion, I came up with a small idea of sharing my experiences and knowledge through a website with the hope that the reader will find at least one useful learning or idea that they can implement in their life/work and in return I would like to encourage the reader to donate. I will consider this effort a success even if 1 person donates a dollar or a rupee or any other currency to any volunteer organization of the readers' choice.

During my career in IT Industry, I have seen best and worst of various scenarios. In this section, I hope to share some insights based on a few challenging situations that can arise in the life of a project manager along with two different approaches to handle them.

Undergrad college application for high school students studying in US is typically a very challenging time in the life of 2 sets of people:

  1. Students

  2. Parents whose first child is going to apply for college

Who is more anxious depends on the parents!! If you are like me, you will be thinking about this right from the time your child joins middle school and try to reach the end of Internet by researching!! This is really not needed... But I know it is easy for me to say, but it is not easy for many parents..

Hence I came up with this section as an attempt to share as much of my research as possible.

My Experiences

The trigger for creating this section is my personal life experiences of past 10 years.

These learnings are structured into 3 levels with 10 learnings per level and I recommend to go through level 1 before you go to level 2 and then level 3. Please note – This is just a recommendation. You are free to pick up what is most applicable for your life.

I have spent a lot of time listening to various perspectives from gurus/experts in different domains.

The 4 experts who influenced me the most are:

  1. Pravachans of Shri Chaganti Koteshwara Rao

  2. Teachings of Shri Shivani from brahmakumaris

  3. Messages of Sadhguru

  4. Lectures of Dr B M Hegde

I made an attempt to incorporate key messages from these gurus/experts, especially whatever made the most sense to me.

Let me be honest – I am not perfect in all the learnings I am sharing. I try to follow all of them, but there are many times where I fall back to my old habits. Rest assured, it is not easy, but if you believe in a learning, you will master it at some point of time. Like with anything else in life, any change needs dedication and persistence.
